Private Lockable Rackspace Colocation
Rackspace is for users who wish to locate multiple servers in our data facility and create a truly customised installation. Access is granted to the facility 24/7 with perimeter control access tags. Your rack is supplied with a high speed connection directly into our network core.
iP-Transit & Connectivity
Lockable Rackspace includes static iP-Transit from our fully redundant BGP4/VRRP network with an assignment of of Public IPv4 (and IPv6 if required) addresses. Alternatively we can provide BGP feeds or backhaul over the diverse fibre ring to either Telehouse East or Telehouse North, London Docklands.

About the Datacentres
Rackspace is available in two physically separate data facilities on the Kent Science Park, Sittingbourne. The first, Building F25 is build to N+1 specifications whilst the second, Building 810 is built to a higher N+N specification.

What is N+1 and N+N?
N+1 and N+N dictates the level of redundancy built into the facility. An N+1 facility (most UK facilities are N+1) has 'N' infrastructure where 'N' is the amount of equipment needed to service customers + 1. For example, our N+1 facility needs 2 air-conditioning units to keep the data-floor temperature stable, so 3 are installed (2+1 = N+1). An N+N facility also needing 2 would have 4 installed (2+2 = N+N). The same applies to UPS units required to provide 100% power availability to customer equipment. The N+1 facility needs 5 units so 6 are installed. The N+N facility under the same load would have 10 units. In addition the N+N facility has the systems split into A and B, so the first 5 UPS units (System A) and the second 5 UPS units (System B) are physically separate with their own distribution to further enhance redundancy.
Lockable Rackspace in the N+1 facility will have a single power feed from the N+1 infrastructure. The N+N facility will have two power feeds, one from System A and one from System B. If your servers have Dual PSU (power supplies) the N+N facility offers huge benefits.
