About our Services
SynergyWorks is committed to providing quality hosted solutions suited to all
size organisations. Our porfolio ranges from Shared Hosting, right up to full rack
colocation, dedicated & managed servers.
Shared Hosting
All shared hosting packages include the HELM control panel. HELM allows you to manage your
account 24hours a day, without assistance. These packages also come with WebMail.
Shared hosting is generally for smaller websites that don't see large amounts of
traffic (<20GB) and/or don't need a specalist environment to run.
Dedicated Servers
Dedicated Servers are for those clients who require larger transfer levels or
custom setups and are capable of setting up and managing a server without assistance.
SynergyWorks will install and configure your leased-dedicated server to the 'initial
build' and hand the box over to the client for management. Servers come with offsite
backup space and Remote Desktop / VNC access.
Managed Servers
Managed servers are the same as dedicated servers, with the expection that
SynergyWorks will provide full management and support of the server. Managed servers
are usually purchased by organisations who find it cost effective and easier to let
SynergyWorks manage the server for them or by clients who are unsure of the tasks
involved with managing a server.
Server Colocation / Rackspace
Server colocation/rackspace is for users who wish to locate their own hardware in
our datacentre and pay for rental of space, power and bandwidth on our Gigabit
network connected to the core of the internet. Designed for mission critical
applications. With colocation your server is located within one of our racks, and
any physical access is escorted by our team. with lockable rackspace you have your
own combo/key and rack, with 24/7 unescorted access. Your free to install any number
of servers / switches into your rackspace. Lockable racks include a single Cat5e feed
to our internet backbone and a power allocation.
Virtual Servers
Virtual servers are the same as Dedicated servers, however your server is based
on emulated hardware. By this we mean you have a physical quota of RAM, and share
CPU time with other virtual servers on the physical "host" server. A virtual server
runs its own copy of Windows/Linux and you have full access in the same way you would
a physical dedicated server. The benefits include reduced costs & an easy upgrade
path. Being a virtual machine, we can easily 'turn up' resource such as RAM and
hard-disk space with no more than 2 minutes downtime.
